    • Got a laugh at the badger picture and sound. I ran after a badger that wandered in front of the tractor while plowing. 14 yrs old and armed with a 12" crescent wrench....I should've thought it through better. Too late the badger got to his hole and did a 180 on me and growled, maybe it was a growl/hiss/snarl but it stopped me like a brick wall. I recall looking at the wrench which looked smaller by the 1/100th of a second. I slowly backed away. Never did that again. LOL

  • I had a guy who hit a fire hydrant and the car was still running at idle then stalled. When I checked the engine for rotation 360 degrees and got a stop showing the timing belt jumped being the second weakest link. I didn't do the job because the guy got it totalled from the insurance. The next mechanic just took out the spark plugs and turned it over bending a valve because he didn't check for 360 rotation.

  • Honestly for a ball joint to fall off it definitely gave the owner a tonne of warnings before that happened because they rattle like crazy when the bushings wear out. Maybe not so much in western countries because of the good quality roads, but where I'm from you wouldn't be comfortable to drive even 2 kilometers a car with such horrible conditions. We learn a lot about taking care of cars here on the other side like it's actually custom to change the oil and filters after only 3000 Km which is just around 1800 miles.

  • "Things to never do to your car" Let a shop or dealer change your oil. They will always over tighten or drain plug to the point of stripping the threads and you will destroy it trying to get it off. Same goes for the oil filter. If you want it done right then do it yourself.

The rear strut, drums drum padds, and fender had been replaced and I wouldn't have discovered it if it hadn't been for the rust I found on the seam of the door. New cars shouldn't have rust on them.

Every time I ran through a puddle I would spray water directly into the intake side of the air filter. • A neighbor of mine had his Astro Van park its self in front of my house, when the front wheels came off. Talking with him, it was an all wheel drive. The front gearbox had failed so he converted it to a rear wheel only, because it was cheaper. Unfortunately, his modifications changed how the wheels where connected. Both front wheels came off, did the spills. The good news, he was in front of my house and not going down the highway, so he didn’t loose control when the van parked itself on the curb. Last word, he ended up replacing the entire front end from a van that hit in the rear and had low miles. He replaced all the ball joints with new parts and his struts were not damaged. But even used, the wheel assemblies, tie rods and CV assemblies where not cheap.
