    • @Orange Rocks1986 Ok I will. I'll keep you all posted. Hopefully it fixes the issue. If not then I'll have to dive deeper into. If you want something done right, do it yourself I guess.

      B BB B9 күн мурун
    • @B B That's very possible. Rotors would cause a grinding sound and not effect vibration at certain speeds. The issue is tire or rims. At lower speeds it wouldn't be as noticable. That's why it happens at higher speeds. A slipped tire is typically the issue. But very likely the rim can be worped and it would cause the rotary to have issues if not taken care of. I'd try rotors and rims at the same time.

      Orange Rocks1986Orange Rocks19869 күн мурун
    • @Orange Rocks1986 No they are brand new Firestone tires. The issue didn't go away when I put new tires on. I have a feeling that there's a issue with the rims. They are cheap, Walmart aluminum rims. Somehow they must have got bent.

      B BB B9 күн мурун
    • @B B Honestly sounds like the tire slipped. I can't explain it, but if you have warranty on the tires, it should be covered. Sometimes the tire slips when they tread it. It can easily happen if a shop retreads the tires. There's a place in my town everyone avoids unless they are desperate to buy the places tires. They retread them and I have had issues with their tires. I pay extra, but I don't have any issues with tires slipping their treads now.

We are forced to hand over our keys and car each time and trust these people and then pay the bill before we can have our cars returned to us. It's too one sided.

REEK REEK REEK like. Only in reverse and wheel turned. Going forward no issues. No suspension noise while turning or breaking. Any clue? The sound occurred after I had some suspension fixed which made the ride better, but now this reverse squeal. I believe it was a ball joint replaced and a Spring over the shock absorber was replaced because a coil was broken and rattling on bumps.

  • Scottty - i have owned all three. MB's are POC. They break down all the time and you can only buy parts from MB, huge dollars. I have had two, almost broke me. I have found best for me are the VW/Audi group. I had an o4 Passat with 190,000 miles Bullet Proof, now drive a Q7 with 100,000 miles and just a windshield, tires and brakes. In order, best to worst, for someone who wants to drive a car and not be picking it up from the shop all the time, VW/Audi, BMW, MB. Ninety percent of the ( BMW, MB ) cars sold in the US are built there. Except for VW Cars, VAG is the only true German import.

  • You see my uncle own a 92 toyota pickup with the V6. The engine has been taken to the machine shop. Runs fine till the engine starts knocking with no oil pressure. 8 years after, I look into it and did an oil change. Did a solvent oil flush on it and struggle to get the oil filter out.. It runs with oil pressure. Now, the engine knock apparently. Search through the engine with a sethoscope. Track it to be on the heads. Needs valve adjusting, new water pump, and oil pump. My uncle ask me, "what was wrong with it?" I respond, "all it needed was an oil change. You or someone drove it till sludges build up and clog the oil pump." He scratch his head.

He said "The Porsche Dealer" I said how much do you pay them for a oil change? He said "$600", 3000 for brakes, 6000 for front shocks, etc. I told him I could show you how to do all that stuff yourself for 1/10th of what they charging you and I'll show you how for free. At the end, I got the impression he rather pay the dealer. Smh.

  • The real problem is a huge shortage of competent technicians. I'm a senior master Subaru technician, we have a terrible time finding good techs. (Same story at the gm dealer I worked for 10years). Management gets desperate and hires less than desirable techs. And then we deal with the backlash of their unsatisfactory work, and the vicious cycle repeats. Also dont be so hard on Subarus quality, Subaru likes to recall every minor issue. (Generaly blown way out of proportion) Where when I worked for gm, major safty flaws were ignored regularly.

  • I think all these manufacturers should stop making every make and model of car new every single year. All these Elite scumbags talk about how they wanna save the world and resources but the corporations and rich elite waste more food and resources than us normal people could in a lifetime. It kills me to watch Gordon Ramsey throwing away food for no good reason like they do when he couldn't cook a steak right if his life depended on it. Most all the world's problems come from these people. How about one year make new trucks the next year do cars or suv's imagine how many resources could be saved, but no instead their going to plot ways to kill off humanity with their viruses and vaccines while they mine the earth to total destruction for themselves while living a pipe dream fantasy their going to migrate to Mars.

  • Scotty's right it is disgusting. I have seen so many crooks in my lifetime not just in dealerships but in other corporate car repair places. I once took my used 1986 BMW to Midas to have the brakes repaired. I had just had the car repainted a week before. As I walked in to pick it up I saw some bozo with a shock absorber in his hand throwing it up in the air and and catching it again right where my car was located. Before I could say something he threw it in the air again and it came down and landed right on my hood making a nice deep mark in the paint. If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes they would have denied it. I told them they could either pay for a new paint job on the hood or they could put in a new condenser and compressor for the air conditioning system which it also needed. They replaced the air conditioner for free because I threatened to go to the media about it. And other times I've had them break things under my car on the suspension. One time I had them fixing something under the car I can't remember what it was oh, and just as I was coming in I saw some guy using dome kind of blue goop to attach one of the sway bar suspension links he had just broken off. Since I caught him in the act again they replaced it for free. I never take cars to mechanics unless it's absolutely necessary. I do as much work as I can myself. I have located honest mechanics wherever I have lived but since we just moved it was hard to find a new one that was honest. I did however locate one and if you do keep them handy because it'll save you a lot of headache and trouble in the future.

I might need an AWD vehicle, but I'm thinking of moving to Florida in November to try out what it's like. Do I buy a car in NY or do I buy a car in Florida? Though the more I think about moving to Florida, I want to move to Bahamas or Mexico. 😅

Tookmit to my mechanic, who showed her it was a leaking coolant hose. He fixed it for free. However, the dealer scared get so much she decided to buy a new car, honda CVR. Burned out a new starter trying to figure out what was wrong. I was lucky to have a Jeep guy with plenty of old computers to try. The one I ordered from a junk yard would only let it start if you had the key on for 60 seconds which would be dumb if you stall cuz it is a manual. Thankfully an ECU for a model year couple years older, for manual transmission works fine.
