The engine was mounted sideways and the rear three plugs were almost impossible to get to. Amazing engineering. 2. 2012 Trailblazer, called to remove the grill to replace headlights. 3. 2018 Malibu Came with a space saver spare tire, which would be okay, only the lug nuts won’t tighten down enough to hold the tire due to the thickness of the wheel. When I brought up the fact to GM that the tire was useless without lug nuts, they told me to go to my local auto parts store pick up a set.

  • Scotty has a love hate relationship with Tesla. hahaha LOL He can't afford, or can't bring himself to spend, the money to by a superior Tesla EV. Well I'm sure he'll do an update when Tesla starts production of the refreshed S and X. Yeah that will never happen. I feel your pain Scotty, hope you resolve your irrational internal conflicts and learn to love a Tesla. hahaha You know you want to. :-) P.S My model Y is the best car we've ever owned and one less ICE car to keep repairing and dumping money into. All Tesla's come standard with autopilot although we upgraded to FSD. Yes the Y cost more up front but in the long run will cost me much less with fewer, if any, hassles. Did I mention filling the 320 mile range battery is about 1/5th the cost of gasoline and I fill up at home, no more trips to the gas station in the dead of winter standing in the cold filling my gas tank. Yes we take long trips and there is no shortage of chargers. Of course anywhere there is electricity we can plug in be it 120v outlet, 240V dryer outlet, RV outlet etc. I suppose you could sort of do something like that with a gas car... using a siphon hose. LMAO Plus all Tesla's come with a 4 year warranty on everything, 8 years on the battery and drive train. I do miss the engine sounds though. :-)

    Paul JacobsenPaul Jacobsen20 күн мурун
  • Scotty you're a smart guy and I'm a big fan but you've got hydrogen all wrong. It makes no sense from a thermodynamic standpoint (much less a safety standpoint) to power vehicles with hydrogen, and thus it will never make economic sense. (Also, natural gas pipelines can NOT easily be converted to carry hydrogen because it's a much smaller molecule and all the seals etc would have to be replaced, along with the pumps, etc....it's not simple!). Why does hydrogen not make sense in vehicles? Simply put, hydrogen is created from natural gas. (Yes, you can also make it from electrolysis of water, but if you have the electricity to electrolyze water, why not use it directly in electric vehicles instead of going through another process to create less energy in the form of hydrogen?) If you have natural gas, why would you want to make hydrogen out of it? What are you going to do with all the carbon left over from natural gas after you strip out the hydrogen? And it is expensive to create hydrogen in this way too! Don't be taken in by the scam my friend.

    • Only the layman's ignorance of science, aka, conservative, would make sophomoric statements like yours. Scotty knows Toyotas, and little else. Hydrogen for fueling cars is the single dumbest idea proposed because it ignores physics, logistics, conservation of energy, and commercial viability of HFC's at a mass scale. I guess you never passed your chemistry classes either....do you realize how stable and strong the molecular bond of H2O is? (And CO2 for that matter.) These require a lot of energy to break, hence the poor efficiency of electrolysis of water. Plenty of sodium in the world too, but it's locked in salt. Plenty of water on the planet, except it's briny and requires $$$ for purification. Titanium is plentiful too, but extracting it costly. Aluminum was once more valuable than gold. Because the process was so expensive to purify aluminum. The list goes on. So, stating pleny of hydrogen around means you know little. And yes, I'm an electric engineer and know what I'm talking about, unlike Scotty. This channel has gone downhill.

  • Considering EVs need rare earth materials for the batteries, I honestly think hydrogen fuel cells are going to win in the long-run (like VHS beating Betamax). Europe is condensed with cities in fairly close distance. The US is too spread-out to reinforce the power grid across the nation to support an EV-using nation. So not only would there need to be charging stations built all over the country, the grid itself would have to be rebuilt. Hydrogen? Current gas stations could install hydrogen gas storage and over time, the direct pipelines could be installed, until then, hydrogen could be delivered just as gasoline or diesel is delivered to the stations.

    Johnathan SaegalJohnathan Saegal21 күн мурун
    • What? Batteries don't NEED any rare earths! Tesla batteries use NONE now. Hydrogen fuel cells NEED rare earths to function and that's why they can nit be used at scale. Because of the cost of and the amount of rare earths. This is basic physics. Please pick up a science book. Hydrogen as a fuel for cars is a dead end. No current gas station can be used as a hydrogen station. Period. Must be converted from the ground up. The grid is plentiful and under used at night. Plus, most EV charging currently and in the future are supplemented by solar and battery stationary storage. You trickle charge your phone battery over night....it's the same principle. The superchargers Tesla have use megapacks to store Whrs of electricity to fast-charge their cars. Please study physics!! Hydrogen has one problem...it's called hydrogen embrittlement. It causes metals like steel to lose integrity and strength and crack. No cheap steel tanks and pipes can be used because they will fail in time and require constant replacement. Can't deliver it like gas/diesel. Can't store it like gas/diesel. People seem to ignore the multiple sources of electricity generation. You can have wind and solar sources..in remote or private property. There is plenty of space on interstate highways for solar panel collection for powering a charging station rest stop. Imagine the government making money for once, from it's public road works! Or cities making money from charging at parking spots instead of just collecting from parking meters and issuing tickets. A smart charging parking meter or lamp post that actually generates revenue for the municipality. How are we going to pay for roads without a gas tax????? Well, here's your answer. Start thinking outside the box.
