I convinced her to get a 2021 Mazda 6 Carbon, every now and then she says she should have gotten the Lincoln. I told her they aren't reliable and expensive to repair. The M6 payment is alot more but its much better. Am i right?

  • Turbo vs Hybrid, that's somewhat of a nonsense question as the car makers now are all making cars that are both small engined (1.0L 3 cylinder) AND Turbo, AND Hybrid (battery and electric motor etc), EG, the 2020/2021 rather crappy Ford Puma. A very compromised car that succeeds in no areas whatsoever.

They transported vehicles from Janesville Assembly to dealerships including Teslow Chevrolet in Mount Carroll Illinois where my dad worked as a mechanic in the 60s and early 70s.😁

  • My '95 S10 kept getting chunks stuck in it's EGR valve and jamming it open (CPI intake). So I took two gaskets plus some aluminum screen (because the "valves" didn't protrude past it's base) and ran that for another few years. So nice not have my EGR choke the engine and wonder if the brakes are going to work.

  • Is it no wonder. Electronic parts shortages, dealerships selling financing packages instead of vehicles and not a single manufacturer even attempting to offer a bare bones car to ease up the price. Explains why so many consumers are seeking vehicles built before 2014. Most everything after that year deteriorates to junk after its driven off the lot. Dealership repair shops overwhelmed with warranty work that too much of its staffed are underqualifed to work upon.

  • EGR has always been adverse to the customer. Always been adverse to great engine/emission development. Why not spend more of the budget on efficient emission designs and a lot less on side air bags, USB ports, Cup holders, Head ups display, auto this and electronic that. EGR is so dated and it forces exhaust debris into the cylinders and make the rings wear out faster. EGR is so dumb its no wonder the designers and engineers are locked up in straight jackets overnight.

  • On fuel octane, a car will run on any octane, but they are designed around a minimum. I currently run my car on 89 octain because it gets better gas mileage than on 87 octane. I say get out your calculator and try different octane rated gas for a couple of tanks. Do the math and see if you gain the fuel cost back in mpg.

Gen3 have problem with EGR. new hybrids ,Corollas ,LExus etc. are much better ,more reliable than any Turbo with dual clutch nightmare
